He’s just 2 years old but he can spin music like a pro. Meet Oratilwe Hlongwane from South Africa, now popularly known as DJ Arch Jnr or just DJ AJ on the internet. He still wears nappies and can’t talk but he’s got thousands of fans who swear by his skills as a DJ.
According to his mother Refiloe Marumo it all began when a one-year-old Oratilwe started fiddling around with a disc jockeying app that his father had downloaded on his phone. He soon started repeating effortlessly what he had learnt on the app on an actual DJ sound machine.
His parents recorded and shared online a video of Oratilwe mixing tracks and adding effects on a DJ console, which needless to say went viral, getting him over 27,000 Facebook fans.
Oratilwe has already performed in front of a crowd at a shopping mall, gone live on an FM station and has sponsorship offers from fans who want to hear the little genius mix some music for them.
While some critics have accused DJ AJ’s parents of abuse and of ‘profiting’ from him, his father maintains that he will not force Oratilwe to be a DJ. Watch young DJ AJ in action below:
