Marvel studio has finally decided a name for Ironman’s successor – Ironheart. In the comic book series, Tony Stark, the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist steps out of teh armour, an MIT graduate, Riri Williams makes her own suit.
During the Civil War two in the Marvel universe, Williams builds her own suit and post the events, upgrades the suit to match Stark’s Ironman.
Writer of the comic Brian Michael Bendis and artist Stefano Caselli have created Ironheart not just as an a new character but a replacement of Ironman itself.
Williams, goes to MIT when she is 15, and is a small black woman in the comic book. When asked about the how the name came into existence, Bendis told Wired:
Tony (Stark) first put on the armor to save his heart. Riri puts it on for different reasons altogether but still heart-related.
While Tony Stark himself won’t be seen in his suit, he will appear in Willaims suit as the Artificial Intelligence, in-built inside her Ironheart.
She enters Stark’s radar when Tony Stark’s best friend, James Rhodes spots her and reports her to Stark. The rest is history.
