What would happen if men were treated the way women are treated in society? The cast of Lipstick Under My Burkha re-imagined a world like that, to drive home their point.
Watch the video here:
In the video, Shashank Arora is told by the women around him; how to sit, what to drink, and what to wear. Sounds familiar? The simple video makes a pertinent point about the rules laid down for women by a patriarchal society, while there remain none for the men.
Lipstick Under My Burkha stars Konkana Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumra, Ratna Pathak Shah, Plabita Borthakur, Shashank Arora, and Vikrant Massey.
Here’s another video of the cast challenging the idea of an “adash ladki” and “buri ladki”.
Lipstick Under My Burkha releases on 21 July.
