Filmmaker Kabir Khan, the man behind Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Phantom, had to face angry protestors at the Karachi International Airport in Pakistan on Wednesday. Khan who was in Karachi for a marketing seminar was on his way to Lahore when confronted by a slogan shouting, shoe-wielding mob as he walked towards the departure lounge of the airport.
Last year, Khan’s Phantom starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif was banned in Pakistan for allegedly being anti-Pakistan. According to Dawn.com, the protesters shouted anti-India and pro-Pakistan slogans and questioned Khan as to why he did not make movies about the Indian intelligence agency, RAW’s activities in Pakistan.
“You people send Jhadav and kill hundreds here, why don’t you make a movie about it,” a protester is reported to have asked the Phantom director.
Another shoe-wielding protester followed Khan to the departure lounge warning the director about “Indian conspiracies against Pakistan army”.
