Is ‘Wazir’ Inspired by ‘The Bone Collector’?

‘Wazir’ might just be a rip off of a Hollywood film, if you don’t believe us read on

The latest trailer of Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar starrer Wazir has created quite a buzz. But look closely and you will find similarities between this film directed by Bejoy Nambiar and the 1999 Hollywood film The Bone Collector.

From whatever we could make out from the trailer, it looks like the plot of Wazir has Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar trying to nab a killer or terrorist (since Farhan’s character works with the Anti-Terrorism Squad) who is playing mind games with them. A handicapped Big B, who is seen playing chess, seems to be like a mentor to Farhan, helping him crack the difficult case.

In this film too, Angelina Jolie is looking for a serial killer with the help of a handicapped police officer played by Denzel Washington, who is fond of playing chess. But the twist comes in when the killer begins to hunt down the wheelchair-bound man. So does Farhan play Angelina and does Bachchan take on Washington’s role? Over to you Bejoy Nambiar.
