The teaser of upcoming family drama Junglee is out. The film stars Vidyut Jamwwal, previously seen in titles like Force and Commando, and has been directed by Chuck Russell, the man behind iconic films such as The Mask, The Scorpion King and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
“This is the story of a jungle, and a unique family—a ‘junglee’ and his friends,” the voiceover tells us. The ‘junglee’ in question is Vidyut Jammwal who plays a veterinarian who has returned to his father’s elephant reserve. We see him frolicking with the animals and get a glimpse of the special bond that they share, all against a sweeping backdrop of lush landscapes.
The idyllic scenario is short-lived as we’re warned that “this jungle isn’t what it used to be”. We see Jammwal making use of his martial arts training as his character battles what appear to be poachers, ironically with a huge statue of lord Ganesha in the background.
The film is set to release on 5 April 2019.
