Kannada star Yash has confirmed that Sanjay Dutt has been approached to feature as the villain in the second instalment to his 2018 blockbuster KGF: Chapter 1. The actor had also been offered a role in the first film but turned it down citing a clash of dates.
Yash was quoted by The Asian Age as saying, “We had offered him Chapter 1, which he did not accept perhaps for reasons of date availability. But yes, we have offered him Chapter 2 of KGF.”
The publication also reported that according to a source, Sanjay Dutt had refused KGF: Chapter 1 because he wasn’t keen on starring in a regional film. However, the success of the film appears to have prompted him to reconsider his stance. The Hindi version of KGF is the fourth highest grossing dubbed Hindi film in India after Baahubali, Baahubali 2 and 2.0.
KGF is an action drama based on the Kolar gold fields, written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale films. Sanjay Dutt is currently a part of Karan Johar production Kalank and period film Panipat.
