Naachiyaar actor, Jyothika will star in the remake of Vidya Balan’s 2017 film, Tumhari Sulu. And the actor is thrilled to work in the Tamil remake.
On bagging the project, Jyothika, according to Times of India, said in a statement:
“I'm a big Vidya (Balan) fan. I love her voice and command over Hindi, which is rare in Bollywood today. I’ve watched every Vidya film, and Tumhari Sulu, in my opinion, is her most loveable work. I feel honoured to be stepping into her shoes. Kudos to the producers and to director Suresh (Triveni) for making such a lively, honest, real and feel-good film. ”
The film will be directed by Radha Mohan and is expected to go on the floors in May.
Radha and Jyothika have earlier worked in Mozhi and have been wanting to collaborate on another project since a while.
Tumhari Sulu showcases Vidya as a hard-working homemaker who signs up to become an RJ on a late night show.
National Award-winning editor KL Praveen and cinematographer Mahesh Muthusamy have also been signed on for the Tamil remake.
