Marathi film Nude has found itself in a new controversy after being unceremoniously dropped by the I&B Ministry from IFFI 2017. And this time it’s for plagiarism. Jaipur-based writer Manisha Kulshreshtha has accused National Award-winning director Ravi Jadhav for using her story Kalindi for Nude without acknowledging it.

Kulshreshtha, in a series of posts on Facebook, has alleged that Nude bears startling similarities with Kalindi with only superficial changes made to the plot. She had drawn Jadhav’s attention to the same, who refuted the allegations by saying he himself had known a nude model at Sir JJ School of Arts. Nude incidentally traces the life of a woman who secretly works as a nude model for artists in Mumbai and hides the truth about her profession from her son.
