It's been two years since SS Rajamouli’s epic Baahubali: The Conclusion released across theatres, and the film's charm has not yet faded for fans. In fact, the legendary blockbuster continues to build a new fanbase online. None other than US filmmaker Scott Derrickson, who helmed Marvel’s Doctor Strange, is the latest to praise the film.
A clip from the Prabhas-starrer has gone viral on Twitter, as someone clearly not familiar with the franchise shared a scene from the climax of the movie in which lead actor Prabhas is seen cannonballing soldiers using coconut trees as the cannons.
Twitter user Carlos wrote alongside the clip, “The full scene with sound is just the greatest scene I’ve ever watched.” It’s gotten 14 thousand retweets and fourty two thousand like so far. Take a look.
Scott also stumbled upon the clip on Wednesday 7 August and retweeted it. "Behold, India's Baahubali 2!," he captioned the video.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, the fantasy actioner is the second part of Baahubali franchise. It stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah and Rana Daggubati. The film continues to be one of India's highest grossers ever.
Scott Derrickson, meanwhile, is also known for his horror hit Sinister. He will next direct the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which he described as “the first scary MCU movie.” Multiverse of Madness will see Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role as the Sorcerer Supreme and also feature Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch.
