Netflix has planned a busy August for all you bingers with more Indian originals, tons of new movies, returning series and comedy specials. Check out what’s coming to the streaming site this month.

Ghoul

Based on Arabic folklore, Ghoul is Netflix’s first Indian horror series. A newly minted military interrogator arrives at a covert detention center to discover that some of the terrorists held there are not of this world. Radhika Apte stars in the original horror series.

Brij Mohan Amar Rahe

Faking his death to escape the realities of his uneventful life worked out well for Brij Mohan -- until he was sentenced to death for his own murder. Arjun Mathur stars in this offbeat comedy.

Disenchantment

This original animated series from The Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening follows the misadventures of a hard-drinking princess, her feisty elf companion and her personal demon.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

A writer bonds with the eccentric residents of Guernsey when she decides to write about the book club they formed during the WWII German occupation. Based on the popular book by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer, this historical rom-com stars Lily James, Michael Huisman and Matthew Goode.

Ozark Season 2

In the new season of the Jason Bateman and Laura Linney’s Emmy-nominated show, the Byrdes face danger from every side as the cartel, the Snells and the Langmores all threaten to bring down the new life they’ve built in the Ozarks.

Insatiable

In this darkly comic series, a disgraced civil lawyer turned beauty pageant coach takes on a vengeful, bullied teenager as his client.

If you missed Vikramaditya Motwane’s action flick Bhavesh Joshi Superhero starring Harshavardhan Kapoor in theatres, you’re in luck. The film revolves around a young man’s journey from ordinary citizen to superhero vigilante. And on this journey, he discovers that he’s destined to do bigger things.

Beyond The Clouds

Beyond The Clouds is internationally acclaimed director Majid Majidi’s first Indian film and it features the debut of Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan. Majidi explores the roots of India with Iranian fervour in this story about love, companionship and family.

Demetri Martin: The Overthinker
