Netflix original series Selection Day is all set to return for a second season on 19 April, and the trailer for the show has now been released.
The first season focused on Manju, played by Mohammad Samad and his older brother Radha, played by Yash Dholye. The two are brought to Mumbai by their father (Rajesh Tailang), who is determined to make them star cricketers.
Manju hates cricket though. And his life begins to transform when he becomes friends the wealthy and confident Javed Ansari (Karanvir Malhotra).
Season 2 takes the story forward and focuses on Manju’s evolution as the selection day for Under-19 Mumbai cricket team nears, and the brothers get a golden opportunity. Manju has to decide whether he wants to follow his own path by being true to himself or sacrifice his dreams for his family.
An official adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s coming-of-age sports drama of the same name, Selection Day season one was released in December 2018.
Directed by Udayan Prasad, Selection Day also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Mahesh Manjrekar and Shiv Pandit.
