Netflix’s ‘Selection Day’ Gets a Release Date for Second Season

The first part premiered on 28 December.

The second season of Netflix series Selection Day will premiere on the streaming platform on 22 April. Netflix confirmed the news in a tweet that read: “Manju and Radha’s toughest innings yet. Selection Day Part 2 begins 22 April.”

The tweet followed an exchange between Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kapoor, who has produced the series with Anand Tucker. The cricketer, who appears to be a fan of the show tweeted to Netflix saying, “Knew these champs wouldn't be kept down for long. Eager to know what happens with Radha and Manju in #SelectionDay Part 2. Is it out anytime soon?” To which Anil Kapoor hinted at in response adding that it would be “ekdum... well you know the rest”.

Selection Day first premiered on Netflix on 28 December. The coming-of-age sports drama, which is based on the eponymous novel by Arvind Adiga, tells the story of two brothers whose father brings them to Mumbai determined to make them both cricket stars. The series stars Mahesh Manjrekar, Ratna Pathak Shah, Mohammad Samad, Rajesh Tailang, Karanvir Malhotra and Yash Dholye.
