Based on the comic book series of the same name, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the supernatural series set to hit Netflix on 26 October is like the origin story of the Archie Comics character, Sabrina Spellman. The adaptation imagines the adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story. Think horror, occult and witchcraft!
As her 16th birthday nears, Sabrina must choose between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends.
Starring Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina who is struggling to reconcile her dual nature while also battling evil forces, the series is tonally in the vein of of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist.
The trailer only amps up our expectations as the series is slated to strike the streaming platform just in time for Halloween. Fans of all things macabre are in for a treat!
Penned by Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also serves as chief creative officer of Archie Comics, the 10-episode series also features Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo amongst others.
