The announcement of El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie on popular streaming giant Netflix came as a reason to celebrate for fans of the acclaimed Breaking Bad. The show spanning over five seasons has been widely appreciated for it’s storyline and performances and has garnered rave reviews.

Set in Albuquerque, New Mexico the show was about Walter White (Bryan Cranston) a chemistry teacher struggling with depression who is diagnosed with an advanced stage of lung cancer. He turns to selling drugs along with his former student Jesse (Aaron Paul) to secure his family financially after he dies. The show was a rollercoaster ride, as we saw Walter navigate through the tricky, complex world of the criminal underworld. You see Walter’s transformation from a mild mannered school teacher to a ruthless criminal.

The season’s finale episode ‘Felina’ saw the death of Walter White, and ‘Jack's White Supremacist Gang’ holds Jesse captive. The film is set to trace the events post the riveting finale episode. Jesse is seen escaping his captors and piecing his life back together. Members of the cast including Aaron Paul as Jesse and his friends Skinny Pete and Badger Mayhew played by Charles Baker and Matt Jones respectively will be reprising their roles, among other characters. The makers have said that almost ten characters from the show will be making an appearance in the film. They also released a song from the film:

Series creater Vince Gillian is the writer, director and producer on the film which will have a worldwide release on Netflix and in addition to that will also have a limited theatrical release. Like the series, the film was also shot in New Mexico very secretly, and was completed in about 60 days.

The film is all set to release on 11 October and the trailer is reportedly set to release today.
