Just when we thought that Big Little Lies couldn’t possibly get any better than it already is, Meryl Streep, the star who just bagged her 21st Oscar nomination for The Post, joins the cast.
On a scale of 1 to Streep how awesome is this news?
Streep will play the mother-in-law of Nicole Kidman's character, Celeste Wright. According to HBO, her character is set to arrive in Monterey after becoming "concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren" following her son's death and "searching for answers."
Season 2 of Big Little Lies was announced in December, last year. Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon will return to the second instalment of the show which swept the awards in different categories as Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television at the Emmys, SAG and the Gloden Globes.
Streep won an Emmy for her role in HBO miniseries Angels in America in 2004.
