Whiskey & Anurag Kashyap Helped Kubbra Sait on ‘Sacred Games’ Sets

Netflix's maiden original Indian mini-series, Sacred Games which is produced by the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Entertainment's Phantom Films joint venture, and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap of Phantom Films, has been the talk of the town. Sacred Games has taken over social media and if you haven’t watched it yet, we are sure peer pressure will make you watch it. The Mumbai-based drama on India's dark underworld has given Netflix a "strong start" for its local content in the country. The Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte starrer is based on Vikram Chandra's eponymous novel of 2006 and premiered worldwide on Netflix on July 6.

The reviews have been great, and performances by the impressive and carefully chosen cast have found a mention in most reviews. One of them being Kukoo, the transgender bar dancer who later becomes gangster Gaitonde’s love interest. The character played by Kubbra Sait has been loved by the viewers. We spoke to Kubbra Sait, who told us she didn’t think twice before saying yes to the role and the gender has never been a problem for her. But, yes, she did face few challenges like dancing and not getting her eyebrows done. She reveals how shocked she was when she found out that he character is just a mention in the book.

Kubbra even talks about how she shot for the most difficult scenes on the first day of the shoot and how she managed to make herself and others comfortable. While Anurag Kashyap played a very important part in making the revelation scene look real and then the whiskey that Anurag had poured for her did wonders.

Actor Kubbra Sait was first seen in Salman Khan and Asin starrer Ready. She also made a small appearance in Sultan.
