By now everybody knows about the huge fallout between Kapil Sharma and Colors TV. So when the new show Comedy Nights Live went on air on Sunday, it looked more like Kapil Sharma ki Bajao show. Well, actually it all started off with the promos where Krishna Abhishek, the new host, was seen openly taking a dig at the ex-comedy nights star. It sure got a massive thumbs-down from the public.

Kapil Owned the Show

Yes, even if it was Pappu Singh, Krishna’s character in the show, who owns the stage now, it still had Kapil Sharma written all over it. Lines like “Superhit show jawan ladki ki tarah hota hai, tumne chhoda doosra pakad hi leta hai” and “Aaj ke show ki TRP aane waali hai, jo log ye ghar chhod ke gaye hai wo sab baithke dekhenge”, and Krishna’s remarks such as “Acche log kaha tik paate hai” and “puraana wala” proved that the first episode of the show was still all about Kapil. Krishna and his team looked quite desperate to make people laugh but we’re sorry, the jokes just fell flat.

Bharati the Saving Grace

However, Bharati ended up being the ‘hero’ of the show. The moment she entered as Bitoo Sharma’s son people saw a slight ray of hope. Bharati was placed to balance the mockery that was happening at the show. Her boyish character gave us some decent laughs, well actually, she just made us miss Kapil more.

Missed Sidhu Paji’s Shayari

No one and I mean no one, can replace Sidhu paji on the show! Mika Singh took over Sidhu’s chair but throughout the show I kept wondering what exactly was his role? All Mika did was laugh at the most annoying and cliched lines. Basically, Sidhu paji ke yaad mein thoko taali!

Madhuri Dixit Used Just as a Prop

Madhuri Dixit, who was the first guest on the show, was actually used as a mere prop. I can’t recall the one time that she even spoke. Madhuri danced to several numbers from her old movies, which made the audience nostalgic. But other than that, she was there just as the pretty face, nothing more.
