Spoiler Alert!

Bidding farewell to Hodor was probably the hardest thing to do. That gentle Bran himself was responsible for manipulating Hodor’s very existence is rather harsh to accept.

Even for Bran and Hodor, who were well aware of the script, nothing about last episode has seemed to sink in.

In an interview, actor Kristian Nairn, who played the role of Hodor, spoke about the connection with his character very emotionally.

When I got the script for Season 6, although I got the call and knew what was going to happen to Hodor, it was a really difficult thing to read. I love Hodor; I love him to death… I had illusions Hodor was going to become some sort of king; but I like that he sacrificed himself for his friends. It feels very true to Hodor for me.

As for Isaac Wright, who plays Bran Stark, less was more.

It’s mortifying. It’s so sad. He’s one of the only characters on Game of Thrones who genuinely doesn’t have an agenda of any kind, I mean at all. He’s just Hodor. So, to have him then killed is just the ultimate twisting of the knife.
