Most star kids get a dreamy launch - either with a big banner or with big stars. But 90’s superstar Govinda’s daughter is making her debut in a relatively low key manner- with Gippy Grewal’s Second Hand Husband. Ask her if she ever dreamt of a big budget launch but Tina won’t give away any sign of disappointment. If anything she’s upbeat about bagging a good role and being cast with the legendary Dharmendra in the film.

He is a known name in the Indian international circle and is a successful Punjabi film actor. If I was launched with a big star and the movie didn’t do well, even then the press would have something to say. I believe in doing my best in what I have been offered.

The actress is open to working with other new comers in the future. Given his friendship with Govinda, there was a buzz that Salman Khan was going to launch Tina. But that never happened.
She clears the air.
Salman was never going to launch me. My father too had never approached him for it. I wasn’t affected by all the reports because I knew is wasn’t true. There was no point in refuting and fuelling reports. This is my age to enjoy life. I have seen worse things being written about my father because he was a star. Even when dad’s film Aankhen (1993) became a golden jubilee hit, people wrote negative stories about him.

Tina says being grounded helps her to ignore loose talk about her family’s success or failure. She reveals how her family coped with a bad phase in her father’s life when he wasn’t being offered many films.
We just helped him switch off and do the things he enjoyed doing. Why do people think that the life of an industry professional revolves only around films? He didn’t need our advice. He was never depressed. We would never sit and analyse what was not working. Bad phases also teach you how to remain grounded.
