‘Fast and Furious 7’ Races Past Spiderman’s Box-Office Record

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson starrer, ‘Fast and Furious 7’ has set a new box-office record for a Hollywood release in India. The film which released on Thursday, reportedly collected over Rs 9 crore on day one. The seventh installment in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise has clearly overtaken the previous record held by The Amazing Spiderman 2 (2014), which earned approximately Rs 7.5 crore on the first day of its release.

According to Boxofficeindia.com, once the collections of the Tamil and Telugu versions of Fast and Furious 7 are in, the first day collections of the film may well cross Rs 10 crore beating this year’s biggest day one Bollywood earner Roy! The Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Jacquline Fernandes film holds the record for this year’s biggest opening in Bollywood having raked in Rs 10.4 crore on day one.
