Recuperating from a long-pending knee surgery which was done in November 2015, Tamil superstar Ajith has reportedly finalized two scripts and plans to work on both projects simultaneously from April or early May. Ajith injured his leg while shooting the high-octane climax sequence of Vedalam and underwent a surgery in a private hospital in Chennai. The surgery confined the Billa actor to walk on crutches and doctors advised him to take ten weeks of complete rest before starting his next project.
“Ajith is gradually recovering from the knee surgery and is raring to end his five-month-long recess. He will work on the projects of director Siva, who delivered two hits for him in Veeram and Vedalam, and director Vishnuvardhan, who brought to audiences his stylish avatars in money-spinners Billa and Arrambam. While Siva’s film has been confirmed long back, Ajith is yet to sign on the dotted line for Vishnuvardhan’s project,” says a source.
“Vishnuvardhan is collaborating with veteran writer Balakumaran to complete the script of the film. It is expected to be a period-historical drama set in the backdrop of the construction of the famous Brihadeeswarar Temple in Tanjore. The 1000 years old gigantic temple, which is an epitome of South Indian temple architecture, has a rich history and Vishnuvardhan is planning to explore this beautifully,” the source adds.
It is also said that Vishnuvardhan had narrated two different scripts to Ajith Kumar and he has already given his in-principle nod to one. Although legions of Ajith’s fans have already expressed their wish to see their idol in a period film with Vishnuvardhan, we have to wait and see which one the actor picks.
Siva’s project is likely to go on floors first and Nayanthara is the front-running choice of the crew to play the lead heroine. In order to make up for his long sabbatical, Ajith Kumar is reportedly planning to line-up back to back festival releases for Diwali 2016 and Pongal 2017. While Siva’s film is expected to hit the screens for Diwali, Vishnuvardhan’s project is planned as a Pongal 2017 release.
