Tamil superstar Dhanush’s next project with director Prabhu Solomon, best known for his countryside romance dramas Kumki and Mynaa, has been reportedly titled Rail (Train). According to industry sources, the makers are planning to reveal the title officially by showing a glimpse of the film, with a first look teaser on Pongal next week.
Prabhu Solomon, FilmmakerAfter working on different landscapes including mountains, sea and forest in my previous films, I wanted to choose an attractive backdrop for my next. That’s when I discovered the magic of narrating a romance story with the backdrop of a train journey. When I told this idea to Dhanush, he immediately agreed to be a part of the film, without even listening to the full script.
Prabhu SolomonDhanush plays the role of a railway pantry worker who sells tea. Paired opposite him is Keerthy Suresh, who plays the role of a Malayali make-up assistant to a popular film actress. Dhanush plays a character called Poochiyappan and Keerthy plays Saroja. The blossoming of love between Poochiyappan and Saroja, and how they share their feelings for each other in a train journey from New Delhi to Chennai, forms the story,
Produced by T.G. Thyagarajan under the banner Sathya Jyothi Films, the film features an ensemble cast including Pooja Zhaveri, Ganesh Venkatram, Thambi Ramaiah, Radha Ravi, Harish Uthaman and Karunakaran among others.
D. Imman, who has been an integral part of all Prabhu Solomon films, continues his successful collaboration in Rail too. While Vetrivel Mahendran wields the camera, the art direction has been taken care of by Vairabalan. The makers are eyeing to release the film on February 12th, to cash in on the three-day Valentine’s Day weekend.
