Tannishtha Chatterjee who appeared on Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza wrote a detailed note describing her traumatic experience of being on the show. The Parched actress pointed out that though she went in expecting it to be a ‘roast’, she was shocked to find that the nature of the content as highly discriminatory and racial.

In response, Colors channel has now issued an apology to the actor via social media. The channel wrote about how their show Laagi Tujhse Lagan which addresses the same issue and said that what transpired on the show was not a reflection of the channel’s philosophy.
Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar reacted to Tannishtha’s Facebook post and wrote about how these deep-rooted biases affect people everyday and cinema reflects these issues.
Other celebrities too lauded Tannishtha for speaking up.
