Avengers: Endgame had left us all teary-eyed, but then came Tom Holland’s much-loved Spider-Man: Far From Home. It spun its magic wand in the international box office by earning over a billion dollars. Sony and Marvel Studios’ latest venture has grossed USD 1.005 billion at the global box office, and has become the first Spider-Man film to cross the milestone. Spider-Man: Far From Home is also the second Sony film to make an entry in the $1 billion club after Skyfall (2012). It has left behind Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which earned $963 million.
The Jon Watt’s directed film earned Rs 46.66 Crore in the first weekend in India. As of now, it has earned Rs 83.8 crores. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce this.
Earlier, Tom Holland took to Instagram to post a special message thanking fans and the cine-going community for making his film a massive success. He wrote, “I cannot believe how well Spider Man far from home is doing in the theatres. Thank you to everyone worldwide who has put us at number 1. Your support means the world. Thank you thank you thank you (sic).”
