Thor: Ragnarok’s trailer was released late last night and we cannot help replaying it! Watch it now:
Okay, first of of all, the teaser is just badass. It seems like we finally have a formidable female villain in the form of Cate Blanchett. Portraying Hela, Cate is set to bring the doom of Asgard - Ragnarok - that is basically the Asgardian apocalypse. And she not only stops the Mjolnir, but destroys it! #AsgardIsDead
We see Thor being thrown into Sakaar, where he is imprisoned by another female warrior, only to be then traded off to The Grandmaster. Thor is then made a contender in a match with an unknown warrior. #FightToTheDeath
But wait, it seems that Loki and Heimdall are working together to overthrow Hela’s plans, which is, surprising (given their history), I guess? #HeimdallDeservesHisOwnMovie
Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song seems best suited for this trailer because the “hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new land”. Its repeated references to war and Valhalha, along with the wailing, make it the perfect anthem for this trailer. #TheImmigrantSong
And then, comes that moment that nerds have been waiting for all their lives. A death match between Thor and *drumroll* the HULK! #FriendsFromWork
Yes, this teaser raises a lot of questions. Can Thor save Asgard? Will Loki repent for his past sins? Who will win the gladiator fight to death between Thor and Hulk? What made Zack Snyder gives the nerds what they’ve been asking for since eternity: vivid colours? Will Heimdall have his own movie anytime soon? Where is The Collector? How did Hulk get imprisoned on Sakaar? I guess we’ll have to watch this one.
Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum and Mark Ruffalo. It is set for a worldwide release on 19 November.
