The nominations for the 91st Annual Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday 22 January at 5:30 am US PT. Actors Kumail Nanjiani and Tracee Ellie Ross hosted the live announcement of nominees from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.
Roma and The Favourite lead the pack with 10 nominations each, followed by A Star is Born and Vice with 8. As has become tradition, the 91st Annual Academy Award ceremony will once again take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, 24 February.
No host has been announced for the show ever since Kevin Hart dropped out of the gig after homophobic tweets from the comedian resurfaced. According to reports, the Academy is now testing a host less format where different presenters will emcee different sections of the evening.
