On Wednesay, Warner Bros. released the first teaser for the upcoming psychological thriller film Joker. Directed by Todd Philips, the film stars Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role as Joker. The film is based on the DC Comics character of the same name.
With the motive of drawing us into the psyche of Joker, the film’s trailer gives us a peek into the most intimate moments of his life. From dancing with a woman in his living room to hysterically laughing in the train to getting assaulted, Joker’s character is an attempt to show the character beyond his usual ‘supervillain’ persona.

Joker is set to release on 4 October 2019. Other actors starring in the film are Zazie Beetz and Robert De Niro.
