“Nolan was in Mumbai last year for an event hosted by Film Heritage Foundation’s Shivendra Singh Dungarpur on the need to promote the use, restoration and preservation of films. During his four-day stay he decided to shoot here.”

On the recce, Christopher Nolan was accompanied by cinematographer, Hoyte Van Hoytema and production designer Nathan Crowley.

The cast of the upcoming spy thriller Tenet includes John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Clémence Poésy and Dimple Kapadia.

The movie has been described as an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage.

According to sources, when Nolan was in India, he arranged for a private line-reading session with Dimple Kapadia which pleased him and he decided to sign her up for the film then.

Nolan is known to be quite secretive about his scripts and so even the scene given to audition for the actors is not from the film. In addition to this, directors and casting agents in the West prefer to have audition tapes of actors when casting for a film. The team of Tenet saw footage of Dimple’s previous work and came to a consensus that she was the right person for the part.
