Baahubali Refresher: Read, Binge, Repeat Till the Sequel’s Release

‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ is all set to release. Read on for a refresher course and a bonus trailer analysis.

The much awaited trailer of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is out and the film promises to be all that we’ve been hoping and waiting for. The film’s release is barely a month away, but with board exams round the corner, it’s only fair that you do your share of revisions. So here’s a refresher course on Baahubali and its pivotal characters.

Kattappa - (Sathyaraj)

Trailer Reveals: Mahendra Baahubali (aka Shiva) trusts him to have his back, despite the fact that it was Kattappa who killed his father. Kattappa, therefore, is among the force that fights against Bhallala Deva.

Amarendra Baahubali (Prabhas)

Trailer Reveals: In many scenes (riding a horse, swinging the axe, etc), especially the ones with Devasena, Baahubali is seen in a common man’s attire. He is not dressed as a king. It is, therefore very likely that he is on a mission to woo his future queen, incognito.

Mahendra Baahubali (Prabhas)

Trailer Reveals: It’s basically full on war for Mahendra Baahubali. Going by his expressions, his bloodied body and the scene by the Shiva Linga, where he smears his pecks with sacred ash, he looks like he’s suffered a big loss. Someone close to him must have been killed in the war.

Bhallala Deva (Rana Daggubati)

Trailer Reveals: All the bloodshed in the movie is thanks to him. In the last shot, after the title, is he being skewered slowly by Baahubali with a sword? One can always hope. 

Devasena (Anushka)

Trailer Reveals: The kingdom in the mountains shown at the beginning of the trailer does not resemble Mahishmati. It is possible that it could be Devasena’s kingdom, where she is the queen.

Sivagami Devi (Ramya Krishnan)

Trailer reveals: The story of Amarendra Baahubali’s ascension to the throne seems to revolve around her. It is her will that Baahubali and Bhallala Deva carry out. What was her desire, that the hero and his nemesis sought to achieve? Devasena’s hand, perhaps?

Bijjaladeva (Nasser)

Trailer Reveals: He is seen bashing a wall to smithereens with his right hand. He is upset that his schemes have been foiled. It is possible that he wanted Bhallala Deva to marry Devasena and that Baahubali wooed her before this could happen. Bhallala Deva’s expression, as he walks towards Devasena, changes from a smile to a frown, because Baahubali is already beside her.
