There is no stopping Avengers: Endgame at the box office. On Day 5, it has collected Rs 189.7 crore in India and is estimated to cross the Rs 200 crore mark by the end of the day, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Avengers: Endgame has turned out to be quite the marvel amongst the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The final installment that is a culmination of 11 years and 22 films, from Marvel Studios, has earned $1.2 billion in its first weekend. This puts it far ahead of its predecessor Avengers: Infinity War, which earned $640.5 million on its opening weekend and took 11 days to reach a billion dollars globally.
Avengers: Endgame opened to $350 million in North America and $859 million overseas, including $330.5 million in China, reports hollywoodreporter.com. In India, it collected Rs 157.20 crore on its first weekend since releasing in the country on 26 April.
In addition to China, where it is already the number four title of all time, it scored the highest opening weekend in 43 markets including India, UK/Ireland, Australia, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and France.
What remains to be seen is whether Avengers: Endgame can surpass the lifetime collection of Avengers: Infinity War, which stands at $2.5 billion and topple Avatar, the top-grossing film of all time with $2.78 billion.
