It was earlier reported that one million tickets were sold in India in just over a day since advance booking for Avengers: Endgame opened.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the advance booking for Avengers: Endgame was “much, much better than several Hindi biggies that opened in 2018 and 2019. Eyes a record-breaking, historic start in India”.

Rahul Kadbet, Vice President - Programming, Carnival Cinemas observed that when the advance booking was opened, the maximum ticket sales were witnessed in Delhi/NCR and Mumbai. In a statement to IANS he said, “Around 2.25 lakh tickets have been sold, which is about 74 per cent of the capacity for weekend. We have 1,000+ shows per day for the movie in over 100 cities. Maximum tickets were sold in Delhi/NCR and Mumbai.”

Rajender Singh Jyala, Chief Programming Officer, INOX Leisure Ltd. said, “As anticipated, across the country, the shows of Avengers: Endgame are almost sold out in a very short time. The first day advance sales have been unprecedented.”

Avengers: Endgame will see all superheroes unite to fight Thanos after the latter wiped out half the world at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

Directed by the Anthony and Joe Russo, the film features a star-studded cast that includes big ticket names such as Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Bradley Cooper, Josh Brolin, and Dave Bautista among others.

Brie Larson, who debuted as Marvel's first female superhero in Captain Marvel, will also join the remaining Avengers as they take on the supervillain Thanos.

Avengers: Endgame will reportedly be the longest Marvel film so far with a run-time of three hours and two minutes.
