The makers of Alita: Battle Angel have released Hindi and Tamil versions of the trailer. The film is set for release on 8 February. Take a look.
James Cameron has been working on Alita: Battle Angel for ages. Now that the filmmaker is busy with Avatar sequels, he has handed over the directorial reigns to Robert Rodriguez while staying on as producer. Rodriguez is best known for the Sin City and El Mariachi series.
Alita: Battle Angel is an adaption of the manga series Gunnm by Yukito Kishiro. It stars Rosa Salazar in the lead along with Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly and Mahershala Ali. While the first teaser for the film was focused on the titular character, the new trailer gives a broader view of the world and sci-fi action spectacle you can expect. The combination of two highly-stylised filmmakers like Cameron and Rodriguez is bound to be interesting.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita (Rosa Salazar) is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. Determined to uncover the truth behind her origin, Alita sets out on a journey that will lead her to take on the injustices of this dark, corrupt world, and discover that one young woman can change the world in which she lives.”
Alita: Battle Angel hits theaters 8 February.
