In a new interview with a daily newspaper, Bharat star Katrina Kaif has opened up about her breakup with ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and how she tries to keep a personal balance with the media.
Katrina and Ranbir ended their relationship three years and while the couple remain amicable, she still receives regular questions about the Sanju star. Speaking to Mid-Day, Katrina shared that she would rather not speak publicly about her personal life. However, she also understood that media attention goes hand-in-hand with stardom. She added that her and Ranbir had a lot of respect for each other.
“If I had my way, I would have never spoken about my relationship. I chose to talk about it because the media was interested in it. I couldn’t have dodged the bullet every time. I would have sounded rude if I did that. So, the best thing was to share the bare minimum I wanted to, and be frank enough to accept the reality. We still have respect for each other, and that will not change,”Katrina Kaif
Katrina went on to talk about how the break-up was painful for her, but she found support in her sister who was also going through a similar situation.
“When I was going through separation, one of my sisters was also in the same phase. That’s when I realised that since my life was out in the open, the ego was more bruised, but at the end of the day, we both felt the same pain. I found solace in reading. My friends were also a strong source of support. I don’t have any regrets. I have come out of the experience a lot more mature.”Katrina Kaif
Katrina is coming off the smash success of the Salman Khan starrer Bharat and will next be Akshay Kumar’s cop actioner Sooryavanshi.
