Reminder of How Unsafe Society Still Is: Celebs

Swara Bhasker said that she was shocked and numbed by the brutality that our society displays.

Arjun Reddy actor Vijay Deverakonda also posted a note saying that he has often had to stay on the phone with a friend or family member when they were in a situation where they felt unsafe. He also emphasised the need to educate and correct the behaviour of young men.

He wrote,

“I have had to stay on the phone while a member of the family or friend felt unsafe. How many of us have had to... it’s one of the scariest things to have to do. We all need to take responsibility of the boys/men in our homes, our friends and in our surroundings. Stand up to any wrong behaviour, correct them, make them understand. And those who don’t behave like humans deserve no human rights. Give them what they deserve.”

Actor Yami Gautam tweeted, “Anger, sorrow, shock... how could these inhuman, unimaginable crimes against women still happen despite such strong uproar and awareness! Do these demons have no fear of punishment or law? Where are we going wrong and lagging behind as a system and as a society?”
