Since 14 November, when Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padakone tied the knot, fans have been glued to their phones and laptops waiting in anticipation for the ‘next picture’ of their wedding festivities. The pair has been outdoing themselves with their elaborate outfits, with each ceremony.
Looking nothing less than royalty, Deepika and Ranveer twinned in gold and ivory at their Mumbai reception on 28 November.
Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla shared a video of the making and the craftsmanship behind this outfit on social media. One can see the amount of work and effort it has taken to create this beautiful outfit.
Deepika wore an ivory and gold, hand-embroidered chiffon Chikankari lehenga sari with an elaborate chaadar as dupatta (head drape with a long trail). Designed by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, this outfit was the handiwork of women embroiders of Lucknow and has been reportedly made in the Tn Sur Ton tradition of weaving. Deepika had teamed her clothes with a neck piece in diamond and pearls, earrings and red bangles from the designer duo’s collection.
Deepika’s parents and sister were also dressed in Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla outfits, while the Bhavnanis opted for Rohit Bal’s collection.
Deepika and Ranveer took to Instagram to share pictures of their outfits.
