Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor has been admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital after he tested positive for coronavirus.
Dr Santosh Shetty, CEO and executive director, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital said in a statement, "Randhir Kapoor has been admitted to Kokilaben Hospital on Wednesday (28 April) for COVID treatment. His condition remains stable".
Speaking to ETimes, Randhir had said, "I have no clue how I got COVID. I am surprised. Let me also tell you that my entire staff of five members, too, has tested positive, and I have got them hospitalised with me in the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital."
Talking about his symptoms, he said he decided to take the test as a precautions after he experienced shivering, "I felt some shivering and decided that it is better to be safe, hence I underwent the test. But overall I am in no discomfort. I have no major problem. I am not breathless and did not need an ICU or oxygen support either. I had a bit of fever but that is gone now."
However, ETimes later reported that Randhir had been shifted to the ICU to run more tests but he assured, "The hospital is taking very good care of me and I thank Tina Ambani. Everything is under control. They are going all out for me. The doctors are around all the time."
Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor had also tested positive for the virus. He recovered after isolating at home. Of late several Bollywood celebrities, including Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal had tested COVID positive. Most of them have recovered.
