There have been numerous speculations about Varun Dhawan marrying his girlfriend Natasha Dalal in December. Recently, there were fresh speculations that the duo have finalised the venue, a palace in Jodhpur. It was also reported that they have roped in Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's wedding planners, Motwane Entertainment & Weddings.
However, Varun has quashed all the rumours. “This news is not true at all. I am tired of denying the wedding rumours over and over again”, the actor told Deccan Chronicle.
Varun’s father David Dhawan has also refuted the claims. “Like me, I know everyone is eagerly waiting for Varun’s marriage. Shaadi hogi khoob dhoom-dhaam se. But let's not speculate about the dates and venues for the wedding. We will officially announce the date with all the details when it takes place”, the filmmaker says.
On the work front, Varun Dhawan is prepping for his upcoming film Street Dancer. He is also set to reunite with his father David Dhawan for Coolie No 1, remake of the director’s 1995 Govinda-Karisma Kapoor comedy by the same name.
In an interview to mid-day, Varun clarified that there will be a lots changes in the new version of Coolie No. 1.
“It is not a remake. The film is an adaptation. While the screenplay remains the same. We are changing a lot of things, and it will be different from the original,” said Varun.
Coolie No. 1 stars Govinda as a coolie, who with the help of a spurned matchmaker, poses to be a millionaire to get married to a rich man’s daughter, played by Karisma Kapoor.
Varun also spoke about why he thought a new version of Coolie No.1 was a good idea and said that he was doing it because he hadn’t “seen such a wholesome entertainer in the last 15 years.”
"Also, I am doing it because I loved the screenplay. And being directed by dad is always great,” he said.
