Actor-comedian Sunil Grover has been discharged from the hospital after he recently underwent heart surgery. According to hospital authorities, Sunil Grover was hospitalised earlier on 8 January after a heart attack and he also tested positive for COVID-19, PTI reported.
The news agency also reported that an angiography revealed that three of his arteries were blocked and he underwent four bypass surgeries. Grover had an “uneventful post-operative recovery,” the hospital said in a note.
Dr Ramakanta Panda said in a statement, "Since he has received all arterial grafts using internal mammary arteries his long term results should be good and will be able to lead a normal life in the long term with proper care which should include proper diet, exercise, yoga and medicine.”
A doctor told ETimes that Grover came to the hospital complaining of chest pain and an ECG revealed that he had suffered a heart attack. They also treated him for COVID but he didn’t have any symptoms.
The doctor added, "After a week, an angiography was done. It showed blockages in all 3 major heart (coronary) arteries with 100% block in 2 arteries and 70-90% block in third artery. His heart function was normal and fortunately, there was no damage to heart muscle. Hence, a bypass surgery was recommended and done. He has recovered well and is being discharged now."
Grover was recently shooting in Shimla for a web series. He posted videos of the snow-clad region on Instagram.
