From Arjun Kapoor to the Jonas Brothers, celebs have been having a blast with FaceApp, a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence to analyse one’s face and show you your older self.
However, Smriti Irani says she tried the FaceApp challenge way before it was cool. The union minister and former actor cheekily posted a picture of herself as the older version of her character Tulsi Virani from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi complete with grey streaks in her hair. “When @ektaravikapoor gets to you before the #faceappchallenge #tbt” she hilariously captioned it.
Yash Raj Films also were quick to point out that they too had tried the FaceApp challenge before it became all the rage and posted a clip of Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta from their 2004 film Veer-Zaara.
Check out a few pics from other celebs who took the FaceApp challenge:
FaceApp was developed by a team based out of Saint Petersburg, Russia. According to NewsWeek, FaceApp first went viral in 2017. The free version offers a limited choice of filters, including one that ages a user. It also gives the user the option to change one’s face, hair colour and swap genders. However, the app has raised some privacy concerns with some pointing out that its privacy policy says that it collects the pictures that the user uploads to its service.
