The Sky Is Pink actor Rohit Saraf says that director Shonali Bose told him that he was the third son she never had. Rohit, who also starred in Dear Zindagi, said in an interview to Mumbai Mirror, that the film helped him deal with his father's death whom he lost when he was 11.

Shonali's son was named Ishaan and Rohit plays the role of Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar's son, Ishaan Chaudhary in The Sky Is Pink.

"I thought that I had made peace with my father's death, but this film gave me a closure which I never thought I would need. I felt special when Shonali, who lost her elder son a few years ago said that I was the third son she never had."

He adds that he was on a vacation with his family when he got a call to audition for the film. "When I went to the set, Priyanka, Farhan and Zaira walked in and all of us were in front of the camera. The photo shoot went on for hours and while I was leaving, Shonali said that I would be playing Ishaan," he added.

"Zaira Has the Right to Make a Choice"

Talking about Zaira Wasim's decision of quitting films, the Dear Zindagi actor says that she has the right to make a choice for herself.

"I hadn't seen it coming, but she is intelligent enough to know her priorities, and if this is what she wants, she has the right to make a choice. We were both socially awkward on the set, and we used to exchange looks when we felt awkward. I'll miss all of that," he said.

Rohit also spoke about how Priyanka helped him prepare for an emotionally draining scene. She said that I had got my part because I am talented and told me to be confident and be myself.

The actor will be soon joining his co-stars at the Toronto International Film Festival where the film will premiere. He earlier attended the festival in 2017 for his film What Will People Say.
