Sonali Bendre is determined to brave cancer with a smile on her face. She recently took to social media to share a picture of her son, Ranveer and revealed that she derives her strength from him.
She made a case for involving kids, educating them and letting them in on the nature of the illness of near ones with empathy. Sonali revealed how her son’s “madness and shenanigans” helped her “switch on the sunshine” at this difficult time.
Her husband and filmmaker, Goldie Behl has now shared a picture of their son, where the 12-year-old is seen beaming in the company of a friend. The smile resembles the sunny grin of Sonali Bendre.
Bendre’s sister-in-law Shrishti Arya told a digital portal that she’s staying strong.
“I believe that it’s imperative to keep kids involved in a situation like this. They are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. It’s important to spend time with them and include them, rather than make them wait on the side-lines, not being told yet instinctively knowing everything. In our effort to protect them from the pain and realities of life, we might end up doing the opposite,” Bendre wrote in her recent post.
The actor revealed last month that she was diagnosed with ‘high-grade’ cancer and is undergoing treatment in New York.
