Shahid Kapoor is the latest Bollywood celeb to be immortalised in wax by Madame Tussauds. The actor’s wax statue was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Singapore on 16 May and the likeness is quite uncanny.
Check it out:
Shahid and his wife Mira Kapoor were spotted at Mumbai airport leaving for Singapore with their two kids Misha and Zain. The kids won’t be seeing the statue anytime soon though as Shahid thinks it would be confusing for them. “I could be a traumatic experience for them to see two dads,” he half joked to Hindustan Times.
Calling the Madame Tussauds statue a “great compliment”, Shahid said he felt special, blessed and privileged to be “part of an elite group of people who are achievers” adding that he was curious and excited to see what the statue looks like.
Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit Nene are some other Bollywood celebrities who have their own wax statues by Madame Tussauds.
Shahid Kapoor is currently shooting with Kiara Advani for Kabir Singh, the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. Donning shaggy hair and an unruly beard, he plays a brash, alcoholic doctor who is quick to anger and is trying his best to forget his former partner who is forced to marry someone else.
Kabir Singh has been directed by Sandeep Vanga, who also helmed the original title, and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde. It hits theatres on 21 June.
