The fourth edition of India Today Safaigiri Awards was held in Mumbai today on 2 October. Many celebrities like Aushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte, Jubin Nautiyal, Neeti Mohan and Sonu Nigam graced the event with their presence.
According to India Today, playback singer, Abhijeet, controversy’s favourite child revealed why he stopped lending his voice to Shah Rukh Khan on screen. His voice was almost synonymous with SRK with songs like Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaun.
“I made superstars with my voice. Till the time I sang for Shah Rukh Khan, he was a rockstar. When I stopped singing for him - and I stopped singing for him - he came down to Lungi Dance,” said the singer reportedly.
While saying that he considers himself a part of the Indian music industry and not Bollywood, he added that in Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om they featured everyone from the spot boy to the other behind-the-scenes technicians, but the singers. He went on to say that his self-respect was hurt.
Recently, Abhijeet Bhattacharya was in the news for allegedly using foul words in his conversation with a woman over the phone who consequently filed a complaint against the singer.
