Shah Rukh Khan might be one of India’s most adored stars, but there is no one in this world who he loves more than his kids. Specially his first-born, Aryan Khan. In fact very recently, the actor also spoke about Aryan during his Netflix interview with former American television host David Letterman. As Aryan turns a year older on 13 November, we take a look at all the times King Khan gushed over his eldest son as well as held a mirror to him.
1. On Aryan Voicing Simba
Shah Rukh and Aryan recently lent their voices for Mufasa and Simba respectively, for the Hindi version of Disney’s Lion King. Before the release of the movie, SRK talked about how special this project was for the father-son duo.

2. Aryan’s Journey in Filmmaking
During an interview with Rajeev Masand earlier in 2019, Shah Rukh spoke about Aryan’s pursuit of filmmaking and his future plans.

3. On Aryan Becoming an Actor
Shah Rukh appeared in David Letterman’s Netflix special, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, last month and spoke about why Aryan will never act.
“My son doesn’t want to act and I don’t think he can. But you know in India it’s like okay if you are a movie star’s son then you become a movie star. He looks nice and tall and okay... but I don’t think he has what it takes perhaps,and he realizes it himself. He is a good writer.”Shah Rukh Khan
4. His Special Equation With Aryan
In an interview with DNA in 2017, King Khan opened up about his kids growing up and his special equation with his elder son.
“I hate to say it, but I didn’t want my kids to grow up so soon. When Aryan and Suhana were kids, I would quietly go to their room, and tell them about my next film. I would go and talk gibberish in front of them, knowing that they won’t even understand. I would get a very ulta reaction from them and that used to change my mood and make me feel better.”Shah Rukh Khan
5. On Aryan’s Ambitions
In the same interview with DNA, SRK spoke about how his son is a lot more colourful in his personality then he is.
“He talks about his ambitions, and where he would like to be one day. But he’s very clear that way. He just wants to be bigger than me and that’s cool. We also go shopping, buy some boy T-shirts. He’s more colourful than I am, which is nice. He’s not grey, blue and black like me.”Shah Rukh Khan
6. SRK on His Kids Filling the Void in his Life
In 2012, the Chak De! India actor spoke about how his kids filled the void in his life.
“My parents’ loss was compensated by the birth of my son Aryan and daughter Suhana. I believe they’re my parents. In comparison to them, I behave childishly.”Shah Rukh Khan
7. On Aryan studying abroad
When Aryan left for London in 2012 to pursue higher education, Shah Rukh talked about how much he will miss his ‘best friend’.
“It’s a little sad for me but it’s better for them. It’s one of the prices you pay for being famous. I have very clearly decided that if I feel like seeing him, I will fly down. I’m star enough to cancel some work and pay a visit to my son,” he says, smiling.Shah Rukh Khan
