Father’s Day is being celebrated by every celebrity in different ways. However, Shah Rukh Khan chose to do something really special on this day. The actor took to twitter to announce the launch of his philanthropic foundation’s name, which he has named after his father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan. He wrote, “A foundation I named after my father - @MeerFoundation - aims to create a network of support for women. No better day than #FathersDay for me to introduce our website to the world.”

The foundation was started by him in 2013 and ‘works on multiple fronts with different stakeholders to build a world that empowers women and brings society together’, according to the website. Through the foundation, Shah Rukh Khas has sponsored corrective surgeries for acid attack victims, donated wheelchairs to Para-Athletes and contributed 21 lakhs for Kerala Flood Relief. It partners with other organisations doing similar work and together contribute to society.

Earlier in the day, the Zero actor also shared a picture of him with his son Aryan Khan, celebrating Father’s Day while cheering for India for the much awaited World Cup match against Pakistan. The father-son duo can be seen wearing India jerseys supporting the names ‘Simba’ for Aryan and ‘Mufasa’ for Shah Rukh, with reference to Disney’s Lion King main characters.

“Ready for the match with the spirit of #FathersDay. Go India Go!!,” he wrote on his twitter handle.

SRK is all set to appear on the American talk show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. David was also seen at Shah Rukh’s home, Mannat, while he and his son, AbRam, were waving to the crowds on Eid much like every year. With all this happening, we really cannot wait for the David Letterman episode starring him.
