Ranveer Singh’s appearance as Kapil Dev in his upcoming film ‘83 garnered a lot of attention because of the striking resemblance. To look exactly like the cricketer, Ranveer is taking a lot of efforts, right from cricket training to maintaining his food habits to getting the lean frame.
A team of nutritionists and chefs has been working with Ranveer to make sure his dietary requirements are met. Anmol Singhal, the co-founder of PoD Supply, (which manages the actor’s diet) has come up with a protein-heavy diet for Ranveer to help attain the lean frame.
Since Ranveer loves Indian cuisine, it is a major part of his diet keeping in mind the restrictions. What he loves most in his day plan is the jalapeño and crisp bacon omelette that comprises rolled oats, eggs, topped with mixed nuts and fresh berries. Eggs and oily fish too dominate his meals. Four chefs are with Ranveer in London, monitoring his diet and routine.
The actor’s love for Nutella hasn’t been compromised though. Anmol Singhal created a special substitute, a healthy one, so that Ranveer doesn’t have to give up on this. An avocado mousse, made of 90 per cent dark chocolate chips and avocados, is what the actor uses as a substitute.
The Gully Boy actor has been busy prepping for his next film project, Kabir Khan's 83. The movie traces India's historic victory at the 1983 cricket World Cup. Ranveer plays legendary cricketer and team captain Kapil Dev while Deepika will be playing his wife Romi.
This is Ranveer and Deepika's first film together after their wedding last year. The couple has previously co-starred in Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. 83 also features Saqib Saleem, Adinath Kothare, Chirag Patil, Harddy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jatin Sarna, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Dinker Sharma, Jiiva, Sahil Khattar, Dhairya Karwa, Nishant Dahhiya and R Badree.
The film is presented by Reliance Entertainment, and is scheduled to release on 10 April next year in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
