The Sky is Pink has been creating quite a buzz since the trailer released. From getting a positive response back home in Mumbai to a standing ovation at TIFF, Priyanka Chopra, Shonali Bose and the other actors are being flooded with appreciation. The film is based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary, a young girl born with an immune deficiency disorder, who passed away at the age of 18. She was a motivational speaker and author. Zaira Wasim plays Aisha while Priyanka Chopra plays her mother Aditi Chaudhary and Farhan Akhtar portrays her father Niren Chaudhary. Rohit Saraf will be seen in the role of Aisha’s brother.
Talking to The Quint, Priyanka Chopra tells us how Shonali and she worked on the look of her character Aditi Chaudhary, who goes from her twenties to her fifties in this film. When asked about how they planned in showing her process of ageing, this is what Priyanka had to say.
“I suggested to Shonali that maybe we should give Aditi some weight, put on some weight, add prosthetics.’ Shonali got really upset with me. She shut it down she was like this is what cinema does, it ages women so unflatteringly.”Priyanka Chopra, Actor
She also went ahead and spoke about Zaira Wasim and how her decision to quit acting came as a surprise.
Last but not the least, how could we let her go without talking about her husband? She told us she could finish such an emotional climax of The Sky Is Pink just four days before her wedding only because of Nick and her mother.
“Nick came down earlier. He handled all the logistics of the wedding so that I could focus on my work. Him and my mom did tasting and the seating charts and room list and all of that they handled and you know he’s always supported my my ambitions and my drive and I’ve always supported his so that way we have a great balance.”Priyanka Chopra, Actor
