Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is currently in England filming for his upcoming sports drama film ‘83 which revolves around India’s victory in the 1983 World Cup. In the film, Ranveer Singh plays the role of Kapil Dev. To train for his dynamic character, Ranveer Singh has been training with former cricketers like Kapil Dev and Mohinder Amarnath.

Most recently, Ranveer took to Instagram to share pictures of himself with famous cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, and Vivian Richards. In the caption of his posts, Ranveer referred to Sachin as the “God of Cricket”, Shane Warne as “Spin King” and Vivian as “The Incomparable Sir Vivian Richards.”

Ranveer also shared a picture with Sunil Gavaskar, calling the latter “The Little Master.”

On 27 May, Ranveer had taken to Instagram to introduce the ‘Kapil’s Devils’ of ‘83. He posted a photo of the entire cast suited up in black and blue.

Ranveer also shared a solo photo of himself with the caption, “About to embark on a remarkable cinematic journey 🏏 #proud #blessed 🙏🏽 @kabirkhankk @83thefilm”

83 is being directed by Kabir Khan and it stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Pankaj Tripathi as India’s manager on the tour, Man Singh, and Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma. Other actors who will be playing the role of various cricketers include Addinath M Kothare, Chirag Patil, Harrdy sandhu, Ammy Virk, Sahil Khattar, Dhairya Karwa, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, and R Badree.

The film is scheduled to release on 10 April, 2020.

The Gully Boy actor recently also signed Yash Raj Films’ Jayeshbhai Jordaar, in which he will be playing the role of a Gujarati.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be helmed by debutant writer-director Divyang Thakkar. A comedy film, it is expected to go on floors in October. It will be produced by YRF’s Maneesh Sharma.
