Actors Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi welcomed their baby girl on 18 November. According to a statement issued by her publicist, Neha delivered the child early Sunday morning in Womens Hospital here, and both mother and child were "doing great".
Angad’s father, Bishan Singh Bedi told mid-day, “I am thrilled. The baton passes on… that’s how it is from a social point of view.”
The new mother Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi took to social media to announce the name of their child - Mehr Dhupia Bedi on 20 November. Angad’s father took to social media to post a picture of his grand-daughter.
Angad too took to Twitter to write: “The last two days have been very overwhelming. Neha and me have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl. Thank you all for your wishes and love that is coming our way. Both my girls are doing really well."
Soha Ali Khan and husband and actor Kunal Kemmu were among the first few to visit Neha and Angad at the hospital. B-town stars, Sophie Choudry, Aayush Sharma and Nimrat Kaur took to Twitter to wish the happy couple.
Tennis star Sania Mirza, who delivered a baby girl three weeks ago, tweeted best wishes for the couple as well as her husband and cricketer Shoaib Malik. Harbhajan Singh welcomed the new parents “to the club”.
While all eyes were on Sonam Kapoor’s star-studded wedding to Anand Ahuja, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi quietly tied the knot on 10 May 2018 in a hush hush Anand Karaj ceremony and later informed the world, via social media. Neha revealed that Karan Johar was the only person in Mumbai who knew about her intention to get married.
Dhupia recently recorded the latest episode of her podcast with Angad Bedi, who made his first appearance on the show. "As of now, I don't intend to take a long break, but that may change once the baby's here," Neha Dhupia revealed about her impending maternity break to Mumbai Mirror.
Dhupia announced her pregnancy on Twitter on 24 August.
Sharing their love story with Humans of Bombay, Neha had said, “He tells me that he 1st saw me at the gym when I was 20 & told his friends, ‘I’m going to get to know her 1 day.’ When we moved to Bombay, we met at a mutual friend’s party–it was just us standing in the balcony. I saw a different side of him–beyond the jokes & wit, there was a sensitive man.”
